Service Desk and Counter Specialist

Full Time • Youngstown Rubber Products/Mid-State Sales, Inc.
 
Location: [Youngstown, OH]
Pay Range: $18.00 – $20.00 starting pay per hour (depending on experience) 

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused to join our team. This role is key to supporting our customers, processing orders efficiently, and working closely with internal teams to ensure excellent in-person service and on-time delivery. 

This is a hybrid position that offers plenty of time behind the desk, as well as time on the floor assisting customers in person. This position requires lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, as well as the building and construction of hydraulic hose assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person at the counter
  • Process sales orders from quote to invoice with accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide product information, pricing, and delivery details to customers
  • Recommend additional products and solutions based on customer needs
  • Coordinate with outside sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure timely service
  • Manage customer returns and vendor returns professionally
  • Monitor open orders and follow up to ensure promised delivery dates are met
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transactions
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and coworkers
  • Take initiative to assist where needed, including working occasional overtime


Qualifications
 
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3+ years of experience in inside sales or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication skills—verbal and written
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with Industrial ERP software is a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of pricing, vendors, and product sourcing is helpful
  • A professional, team-oriented attitude
